Yami was born in the Village of Clouds in the Land of Lightning. Born into the Tengu Clan, he had mastered Zanjutsu at a young age. Graduated the ninja academy when he was 8, awakened his yuuminzaigan when he was 10, and became anbu when he was 12. When he was 15 he meet an anbu from Konohagakure named Arashi Uchiha and were set up as partners in many missions. They both trained together and mastered special jutsu. Upon mastering these jutsu they both awakened there eyes into second state. They were then seperated again returning to their respectable villages. When turning 18 he released his Yama no Tamago, Murokumo, and killed it in battle thus awakening the third state eye Gogen Yuuminzaigan. His mindset had changed, he now saw his clan as the ultimate in evil, their actions and powers a curse that must be eraticated from the earth. Using his new found eye power he destroyed the tengu village and citizens. Among the dead is his lover and family. The leader Raven no Tengu rose up to defend the village using his third state eye but was defeated and presumed dead by Yami. Raven branded him with a new name, Hinote Shin, the scarred god. Hinote evacuated the village leaving everything from his past behind. A team of konoha anbu were given the job of hunting down Yami. They caught up with him three days after the masacre. Using genjutsu, shadow clones, and doujutsu he killed all but one anbu easily. The last was reveiled as Arashi and the two had a legenday battle that left a giant crater now known as The Final Crossing. Hinote wasnt heard of for sometime after that. Arashi was presumed dead after their battle but later resurfaces as Hokage. Hinote makes his next appearance in the Sand Village where he flawlessly invades the village and destroys the Kazekage stealing the Yonbii (four tails). He reveals himself to be of the Akatsuki and later states that he is the leader of that organization. His akatsuki rises to power making numerous appearances and stealing all nine tailed beasts. In Hinote's visit to Konoha he encounters Arashi who posseses the Fuumatsu Mangekyou Sharingan. In a clash of only seen at there last encounter the village is left a giant crater by Hinote's Ijigen. Arashi is left in a coma while Hinote goes on to become the unofficial ruler of the ninja world. He clearly states that the only one in the world strong enough to defeat him is Arashi.
